How to incorporate the socio-economic and ecological value of the cork sector in the world of wine?

The potential of corks and the cork sector to create social and ecological value has often been recognised, but until now this value has not been fully appreciated. The Institut Català del Suro Foundation commissioned the study "Socioeconomic and environmental value of the Catalan cork industry" in the MANGO Chair of Corporate Social Responsibility at ESCI-UPF School of International Business to analyze and calculate in monetary terms the global value created for society by the Catalan cork sector. It is a study framed in the project of "Study of the potential of the circular economy of the cork sector“.

We will address the conclusions of the study at the round table "How to incorporate the socio-economic and ecological value of the cork sector in the world of wine?” to the Barcelona Wine Week with prominent agents from the forestry, industrial and academic sectors and we will see how they can be applied to the world of wine.
