Alba Balcells' participation in the OIV expert groups in Dijon

The director of the Catalan Cork Institute Foundation, Alba Balcells, participated in Dijon in the meetings of the expert groups of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV), within the Economics and Law Commission.

Her participation has been developed within the framework of the “Law and Consumer Information” team (DROCON), as an expert linked to the wine sector, and has also extended to the ECOMAR and STATCO groups, focused on economic analysis, markets, consumption and global statistics of the wine sector.

The sessions brought together representatives from more than fifty countries, who shared diagnoses, strategies and perspectives on the main challenges facing the wine sector on an international scale. Among the highlighted topics, the definition and harmonization of dealcoholized and low/no alcohol wines, as well as changes in global consumption patterns, have taken on special relevance.

This participation allows us to continue contributing vision and knowledge to international spaces for debate and the construction of common frameworks, reinforcing the commitment of the Catalan Cork Institute to innovation, sustainability and the evolution of the wine sector in a context of structural transformation.
