Dr. Patricia Jové, head of R+D+I at the Catalan Cork Institute, has participated in the 1st Luso-Spanish Meeting of the Cork Sector, held recently in Seville, as part of the round table "Biological aspects of cork and cork".
Their intervention has contributed to strengthening the institute's role as a reference agent in the generation and transfer of applied scientific knowledge to the cork sector, providing a focus on research, sustainability and innovation. This participation is part of the strategic lines of the EP Vision 2028, aimed at promoting scientific collaboration and the development of the sector.
The conference brought together researchers from research centers and universities, public administration officials, forest management experts and representatives of the productive sector from both Portugal and Spain. This diversity of profiles has highlighted the transversality of the cork sector and its strategic importance on an Iberian scale.
Meeting spaces like this allow us to share knowledge, establish synergies and advance in the construction of joint responses to the environmental, economic and social challenges linked to the future of cork and cork ecosystems.
