Last days to enjoy the experience "From the tree to the tap, from the tap to the table"

Coinciding with the cork peeling season, the cork matinees are back "From the tree to the cork, from the cork to the table” a Cassà de la Selva already Palafrugell. A family experience that allows you to discover first-hand the noble art of the cork peel, from the time peelers peel the bark of the cork oak in the forest until the cork becomes a cork, a key element in the world's best wines and cavas.

The activity takes place from 9:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. and consists of experiencing live cork removal in the protected natural area of Les Gavarres accompanied by professionals in the field, who share their wisdom and experience. Afterwards, attendees are offered a themed breakfast, a cultural visit and a wine tasting from the DO Empordà.


In Palafrugell, the experience takes place in Llofriu and includes a breakfast at the Museu del Suro de Catalunya as well as a visit to the equipment. In Cassà, the peeling is carried out in Can Vilallonga and the breakfast, in the forest. In this case, it includes a visit to the cork municipality of Cassà de la Selva.

In Cassà de la Selva the next sessions will be the 3, the11 and the July 17. In Palafrugell instead, they will take place on 4, the 10 and the July 18.

The price is from 15 euros for adults, 8 euros for children and young people between 7 and 16 years old and free for children under 6 years old.

"From the tree to the tap, from the tap to the table" is an activity organized by the Palafrugell Cork Museum and the Consorci de les Gavarres in collaboration with theTown Hall of Cassà de la Selva and thePalafrugell City Council and with the Catalan Institute of Cork Foundation.
