The document, which will assess candidates&#039; skills in both manual ax peeling and mechanized peeling, covers issues as diverse as daily tool maintenance, risk assessment, work area preparation or how to operate safely and efficiently. Each of these areas includes several parameters considered essential for the achievement of the skills as well as a list of possible errors to be taken into account at the time of the examination.<\/p>\n<p>About twenty cam professionals and representatives of forestry and cork institutions and research and training centers took part in the meeting, which took place at the Santa Coloma de Farners Agrarian Forest School.<\/p>\n<p><strong>the project<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>SUROCAT is a project of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/ctfc.cat\/\">Forestry Science and Technology Center of Catalonia<\/a>\u00a0(CTFC) with the participation of the<a href=\"https:\/\/agricultura.gencat.cat\/ca\/ambits\/formacio-innovacio\/escoles-agraries\/escola-agraria-forestal-santa-coloma-farners\/\">Agricultural and Forestry School of Santa Coloma de Farners<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.forestal.cat\/web\/\">Forestry Consortium of Catalonia<\/a>\u00a0(CFC) and of the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/icsuro.com\/en\/\">Catalan Institute of Cork Foundation<\/a>\u00a0(ICSuro) and has the support of the Department of Climate Action of the Generalitat de Catalunya and the European Funds for Agricultural Development (FEADER). Activity financed through Operation 01.02.01 of Technological Transfer of the Rural Development Program of Catalonia 2014-2022.<\/p>\n<p>Its mission is the creation of an official cork peeler certification inspired by the European chainsaw driver&#039;s license to value the trade, professionalize it, ensure generational succession and increase productivity through the inclusion of factors such as forest management or cam mechanization.<\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The panel of experts of the SUROCAT project is meeting for the second time to work together on the draft of the standards that must be met to obtain the European cork peeler card.
