The Catalan Institute of Cork Foundation has made a collaboration in format video with the company Agilent Technologies, world leader in the health sciences, diagnostics and applied chemicals markets. The purpose of this video, driven by the American company, is that from the Cork Center Laboratory we share our experience using Agilent GC and GC/MS instruments for gas chromatography, given our knowledge in chromatographic and sensory analysis. As the doctor explains in the video Chantal Prat, responsible for the chemical area of the Institut Català del Suro Foundation, these equipments have allowed us to perform the analysis of volatile compounds much faster, maintaining the same sensitivity, precision and robustness and optimizing the time of the samples.

Our task

The Cork Center Laboratory offers analytical services in the cork and wine industry to promote the quality and competitiveness of companies in these sectors. The main services offered are the analysis of volatiles by gas chromatography, the sensory and physical analysis of cork, mediation in litigation, advice on the application of quality regulations or the development of personalized analysis protocols between others

We also participate at a national and international technical level in committees related to the cork sector, such as the UNE or ISO organizations.
