The formation is one of the Institute's work lines, as it helps us develop some of our strategic sub-lines such as:
- Strengthen business competitiveness
- Information on the properties of cork
- Tighten the cork - industry - viticulture relationship
In addition, we consider very important our work to disseminate information to wineries about the different caps and we firmly believe in the need toinclude cork training in the different university degrees in Oenology and Sommelier courses
Among the trainings we carry out, the Sensory Panel Course, an annual course of 4 sessions, open to professionals and technicians from the world of cork and the world of wine.
More information and Registration open from January 25
In addition, we have collaboration agreements with the University of La Rioja and Rovira i Virgili University where, in the Enology degree, we teach a class about cork and its importance in the world of wine.
At Rovira i Virgili University we offer one every year scholarship for the research of the application of cork in the Master of Fermented Beverages.
We offer visits to groups of students of various ages: from 3rd and 4th year ESO and Baccalaureate students to students from degrees in Oenology and Sommelier Schools. We create tailor-made visits, adapting to the requirements of each group, depending on the particular interests and level of professionalism, complementing in many cases the visit and exhibition at the Institute with visits to cork factories in the vicinity or the Cork Museum, located just 250 meters from our facilities.
Likewise, we offer courses on demand, being able to move to companies and customizing the contents so that they adapt to each particular demand.
On another side of cork, not related to the wine world, we collaborate with the University of Deusto, within the framework of an agreement together with the Associació d'Empresaris Surers de Catalaunia (AECORK) and the European Network of Sugar Territories (RETECORK). This collaboration consists of a master class for the students ofIndustrial Design Engineering as part of the subject program Methodology and Creativity, taught by Dr. Rodrigo Martinez. In this session, the properties and possible applications of cork as a material are explained to the students.
