THE ICSURO LABORATORY OBTAINED ISO 17025 INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION IN ORDER TO BE MORE COMPETITIVE IN THE MATTER OF QUALITY CONTROLS IN THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR

The first laboratory to be accredited by ENAC for the global migration test in corks.

The Cork Center laboratory has obtained the UNE-EN ISO 17025 accreditation, the highest international benchmark in testing laboratory certification granted by ENAC (National Accreditation Body).

The main objective of this recognition is to guarantee the technical competence and the reliability of the analytical results. The standard contains both management requirements and technical requirements that affect the improvement of the quality of the work carried out in the laboratory.

Obtaining this certification responds to the global migration test for cork stoppers according to UNE regulations and facilitates the accreditation of regulatory compliance for cork manufacturing companies.

With this milestone, the laboratory of the Institut Català del Suro makes a qualitative leap to respond to the demand of the agri-food sector by accrediting a product with the maximum guarantees of innocuousness and food safety.

This accreditation is part of the actions framed in the growth strategy of the Institut Català del Suro laboratory through the recruitment of new clients, diversification of services and leadership positioning in terms of analytical and quality controls in the process bottling

According to the statements of the director of the ICSuro, Albert Hereu, "this certification will allow us to remain as a reference laboratory in terms of quality controls for the cork, wine and food industry. Also, it gives us added prestige and self-requirement at the same time as working with research and investigation centers". And he adds: "This is just the tip of the spear towards the commitment to the continuous improvement of our center and the offer of the maximum guarantees of quality for our customers".
