Cork, present at Barcelona Design Week in collaboration with Elisava and the MUJI company

We collaborate with Elisava Barcelona School of Design and Engineering and the Japanese company MUJI together with LinasNaturCork in the framework of the project "Gift Collection: Craftmanship and fun objects", made by students of Elisava's Degree in Design and Innovation. This is a collection of gift items for the home, including designs with cork, which is exhibited until October 26 as part of the BCN Design Week at the MUJI store on Passeig de Gràcia in Barcelona.

Throughout the process, the students have worked together with the artisans: Olga Serral (paper), Llennas Natur Cork (cork), Julen Ussia (ceramics) and Sofía Plana (glass). In the cork section, ICSuro has collaborated by making a first presentation of the material to the students in its facilities and following the evolution of the project.

The students have also worked on the documentation, the design image, communication and art direction, the key elements for the publication of the collection, and the product packaging.

Interest in promoting new uses of cork

Lately there has been a growing interest in the world of design for the use of cork as a material. A fact that responds to the commitment of the Institut Català del Suro Foundation to promote the use of Catalan cork for new applications.
