Aware of the responsibility and common interest for the maintenance of the environment, a group of researchers from different Ibero-American centers have decided to pool efforts and resources to work collaboratively in the development of technologies for environmental remediation. The set of individual experiences has made it possible to develop a project that has finally had the approval of CYTED, a project that contemplates the creation of the Thematic Network; Ibero-American Network for the Utilization of Industrial Waste for the Treatment of Contaminated Soil and Water (RIARTAS).

The general objective is to develop and implement a methodology for the remediation of polluted water and soil using adsorbent materials obtained from industrial waste.
