Introductory Course in Cork Peeling Work (CPS) and Competency Exam – Continuing Education

Cork exploitation has a long tradition in the Girona region, but the lack of generational succession has meant that
We find fewer and fewer workers trained in cork extraction.
This course aims to train workers who are capable of carrying out cork removal with the safety conditions and the appropriate technique to remove the cork.
It is a course aimed at people interested in learning about the world of cork from the perspective of the peeler.
The SUROCAT project, in 2024, created a specific course for cork peelers (CPS) in order to establish European standards (EFESC) for cork removal. This course follows these standards and is part of the preparation to achieve the knowledge to be able to pass the test to be certified as a cork peeler (CPS).

PROGRAM:

  • Occupational health and safety.
  • Sharpening and maintenance of the axe.
  • Risk assessment.
  • Cork valve.
  • Stacked.
  • Transportation.
 

The certification exam is not part of the course. This will take place on Thursday, June 19, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. More information: icsuro@icsuro.com

Course cost: €32 according to ORDER ACC/54/2022, of 30
March, creation of public prices for agricultural schools.
