The Institut Català del Suro Foundation has collaborated for another year with theInstitute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC) in the "Bio Additive Manufacturing" workshop of Master in Robotics and Advanced Construction, focused on the creation of structures through 3D printing with biomaterials.
In this seminar, students had the opportunity to investigate the possibilities of cork-based composites applied to architectural systems, such as furniture tables, using a six-axis robotic arm. This collaboration has made it possible to continue deepening the innovative applications of cork in the field of sustainable construction and architectural design.
The foundation's R+D+i researcher, Maria Verdum, has attended the workshop presentations as a jury.
