The international congress took place on May 22 and 23, 2019 Cork in Science and Applications: From the Wine Industry to the New Applications, organized by the Institut Català del Suro.
This congress was the official presentation of the new stage of the ICSuro as a private non-profit scientific foundation.
Speakers from countries such as Portugal, France, Canada, Italy or Poland, such as Thomas Karwobiak, a professor at the University of Burgundy (France), who spoke about the transfer of oxygen through the cork, Cristina Verissimo, from the University of Dalhousie (Canada) who explained the new uses of cork in architecture, or Vanda Oliveira, from the University of Lisbon (Portugal), who gave a presentation on how drought affects the growth of the cork oak.
On Wednesday 22nd afternoon there was a talk open to the public on marketing and wine, led by Juan Park, director of Wine Intelligence for Spain and South America.
