Next November 9, the ICSuro is co-organizing together with the Catalan Wine Cluster (INNOVI), a taping day with the title: IMPORTANCE OF COVERING IN WINES AND CAVES. OPTIMIZATION OF THE BOTTLING PROCESS
GOAL: Know the different coverings on the market, their characteristics and their applications. Know the best practices for selecting and storing caps as well as the best practices in the bottling process.
WHO IS IT ADDRESSED TO?: oenologists, responsible for quality, maintenance and production.

Introduction to the cap manufacturing industry in Catalonia. Brief description of the process of making caps and socio-environmental implications of the different types of caps. Speaker: Albert Hereu, Director of ICSuro.
10:00 – 11:30am What is the best cork for my wine or cava?
Types of caps and characteristics. Selection criteria. Quality control of the caps in the cellars. Storage of caps; transport and storage of wines. Reference standards (UNE, ISO and SYSTECODE).
Speaker: Anna Oliveras, graduate in chemistry and head of analytical chemistry at the ICSuro laboratory.

Good practices in the bottling process. Maintenance of the bottling machine, possible incidents in the process.
