The Institut Català del Suro Foundation (ICSuro) closes 2022 with a positive numbers among which stands out theincrease in the 21% of analytics for the caper and wine industries made in Cork CenterLaboratory with respect to the previous year or realization of Balance of the Common Good, a self-assessment process to minimize the social, environmental and economic impact of the entity in line with the environmental sensitivity of the cork sector.
For Joan J. Puig, president of the Institut Català del Suro Foundation, "the cork sector is more alive than ever and with the exercise of self-requirement and transparency that this step forward represents, we want to convey to our partners, collaborators and clients the foundation's commitment both to the work we do and to the way we deploy it. A way of doing things that we believe is the future and that we are sure will help us achieve our sectoral goals”.
During 2022, the R+D+i department has reaffirmed itself as one of the mainstays of the foundation by working with fifteen projects with partners from twelve different countries and collaborating with 47 companies and external research centers. It has also been done training more than three hundred people from the fields of oenology, sommelier or design and twenty people have been consulted who have presented new initiatives related to cork.
On a digital level, received 16,700 visits to the website and increased the number of followers on all social networks of the ICSuro.
